Another benefit of those types of batteries is the fact that they can be pierced and not blow up or leak toxic acid like acid batteries would.

Lithium-Ion Battery 

Pros: Compact, very light, life span.
Cons: If pierced they will explode, causing damage to people and surroundings.

Now this is the big boy league. We are now talking about the batteries that are included in every laptop and smartphone. They are of course the most expensive but they deserve it. These also have up to three times higher longevity than acid batteries.

You don’t want to get completely empty, because they turn unusable. However, worry not: your lithium-ion powered devices may shut down at 0% but they are really at 20%. Therefore, they never really “empty”.

Finally, these batteries are sensitive to major cold and heat.

Lithium batteries can handle less attention and you can forget them inside your basement for up to 3 years.

Their life span is ~5 years, which makes their higher initial cost worth it because you won’t need to replace it for years to come.

General Battery Charging Tips

  • Do not charge the battery immediately after ending your ride. Wait for about an hour, to let the scooter cool down and lower the temperature before pluging it into the wall. This will in the long run immensely inrease your battery’s life cycle.
  • Remember to charge your scooter after every use. If you leave the scooter discharged for days it will harm the batteries.
